Even on my raw food diet, I’m feeling like I need a cleanse…It’s actually been so long since I’ve don’t a juice fast, so Im starting one today. If you would like to cleanse with me, post a comment here on what you juice, recipe, etc.. maybe we’ll have a bunch of people doing an end of summer fast together!
8 carrots, 1 apple, piece of lemon, large chunk of ginger… yummy!
Leah (my amazing chef from Grezzo when I had my raw food restaurants) came over tonight and picked a bunch of green heirloom tomatoes from my garden and pickled them. Look at these colors!!!!
She added a bunch of spices, fennel, coriander, cinnamon stix, garlic…added apple cider vinager… Can’t wait till they marinate!

I just tried this new coconut opener from Coco-Jack! For those of you who shy away from opening coconuts for fear of slicing your hand off or if you just have a hard time knowing how to cut into them while saving the coconut milk from splashing all over your kitchen counters, you’ll want to check this handy little tool out!
What I really love is the perfect round hole it leaves in the top of the coconut so that you can easily scrape the meat out and you can also close them up if your not going to be using the whole coconut right away. Love the scoop for the meet also!
Ive tried a lot of coconut knives and other gadgets over the years that promised to make opening my Thai baby coconuts a breeze but they never delivered and I have always gone back to my kitchen knives and hatchets. Ive ruined a lot of knives and my hatchet is pretty intimidating for the faint of heart. It can also make a mess.

Ive been making a raw green energy soup in the mornings lately instead of my raw food smoothies.
This is the one I made this morning. You can alter the spices and seasonings to your liking.
In a blender or food processor, blend all of the ingredients except the Dulse, until smooth. Once this is blended well, add the Turmeric, Cayenne and Cumin and blend again. Pour into a large bowl and add Dulse pieces. I like using a vitamix so it comes out really smooth and creamy.
